LGBT+ Inclusivity & Gender Sensitization Training
Date: 2021 - Ongoing
Location: Bangalore & PAN India

LGBT identities remain a subject of debate and contention in both personal and political spaces. Transgender communities, in particular, are often subjected to societal expectations and forced to conform to predetermined identities. This creates an urgent need to initiate conversations that destigmatize these identities, embrace diversity, and promote inclusivity.

The LGBT Sensitization Workshops have emerged as a platform designed to create safe, inclusive spaces for participants to explore and reflect on their lived experiences related to gender identity. These workshops take a structured approach that includes knowledge building, challenging ingrained perspectives, and promoting allyship. Through these methods, participants gain a deeper understanding of LGBT+ experiences.

More than just sharing knowledge, these workshops encourage active engagement and introspection. Participants are given the opportunity to challenge preconceived biases about the LGBT community. Furthermore, the workshops emphasize the importance of allyship by providing practical strategies for supporting and creating inclusive environments, particularly within shared workplaces.

In addition to these workshops, I have collaborated with various corporations since 2021 to foster LGBT+ inclusion by designing gender sensitization sessions and developing DEI policies. Some key collaborations include designing Dr. Reddy’s DEI trans inclusion policy and conducting trainings for managers, HR, and employees at Deloitte, NASCOMM, Dot Dash Meredith, Egon Zehnder, and Bangalore Airport.

In essence, these workshops act as a gateway to promoting understanding, breaking down stereotypes, and cultivating a culture of allyship that extends well beyond the workshop setting.
